8' STRAIGHT PALM

Steel pipes can be purchased at Home Depot or a local fence company. They are a heavy wall steel pipe that is 1 7/8” Outside Diameter.
They are found in the plumbing department in 10’ lengths called black pipe.
Pipe can also be purchased at: www.onlinemetals.com

9’ Queen Palms (CURVED) requires a 7’ steel pipe
11’ Queen Palm requires a 10’ steel pipe (please note...this palm trunk has a larger diameter hole that is used for other applications) Please follow instructions as stated.
The steel poles can be installed using a post hole digger. No concrete is needed.
8' Queen Palm (straight trunk) Pole must be straight 45" above ground level.
9’ Queen Palm (curved trunk) Pole must be straight 46 ½” above ground level.
11’ Queen Palm – Pole must be straight 86” above ground level.
7' Princess Palm - Poles must be straight 20" above ground level. 3 poles required.
Gently lower the palm trunk down over the steel pole to the ground.
Place the palm head on top, It’s that simple, Now It’s Time To Shape the Fronds
Palm Fronds should be bent and shaped with a gradual arch in the wire stem.
VERY IMPORTANT:
DO NOT BEND THE PALM FRONDS DIRECTLY AWAY FROM THE TRUNK
AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE!
SEE PHOTO BELOW AND SHOWCASE PHOTOS.
Hold the outer tip of the Palm Frond with one hand and using the other hand to shape it.
Start shaping the Frond from the outer tip first moving closer to the trunk.
This will enable the Palm Frond to have a nice gradual arc reaching downward.
Allow some palm fronds at the top to remain standing up straight with just a slight curve at the tip.
Take your time shaping the Fronds, this is the most important step.
If Coconuts were purchased they can be zip-tied to the lower row of the palm fronds,
3 coconuts look great on the palm tree and give it a finished look.
Landscape up-lighting is recommended for the evening hours.
Queen Palm Trees can stay out all winter, You can Decorate them for the holidays.
INSTALLING THE PALM HAMMOCK
The Palm Hammock Set comes with it’s own 36” steel support poles.
These poles must be concreted in the ground straight up 15 feet apart.
This 15’ apart is important, Rope Hammocks will stretch after time.
You will find the hammock may appear tight at first, That’s normal.
This will allow the hammock to stretch and you can adjust the chain links.
You will need 2 bags of concrete for each post.
Leave 12” of support pole above ground.
Be sure the flat side of the post is facing the opposite flat side.
After the concrete has cured lower the trunk down over the pole making sure the EYE-HOOK is facing the other palm tree’s EYE-HOOK.
Install your palm heads and shape the leaves as pictured below.
